"strangers when we first began, now we're singaporeans"

iiiiii just came back from the first audience-rehearsal for ndp.yk had some tickets so we got to attend it.the parade this year was sooo much more interesting than last year's.at least the storyline was clear and no strange skating-scene plot.

initially i wasn't so keen on attending because i'm still a leetle frightened from my first experience of ndp some 20 years ago.tt was the time when i was first introduced to body odour and sweaty pple and squeezing.but then kenneth assured me tt we wouldn't have to squeeze and tt there were individual seats,so i agreed.

i'm so glad i did.i particularly liked the leetle snippets of various national day speeches by the different pm(s) and the 70s and 80s songs feature.i also liked the video featuring the kids;they say the funniest things and the video editing was quite cute.note to self:learn how to do the kids video effect.and and and my favourite part was the army men marching of course.yums.HOHO.GO AIR FORCE!

apart from the costumes tt i dun get (i think they were trying to do some symbolism thingy, but i'm not sure either),it was overall a very good experience.i enjoyed myself a lot-made me very proud to be singaporean, for tt 2+ hours at least.we're reallie quite brilliant in terms of achievement.if only we were better socially and culturally and watever-ally(i can't think of the right word for needing blatant reminders to allow passengers to get off train first),sgp would be the best place to be.

having said tt,i love sgp.we're good stuff.could be better,but i think we're pretty good.-thumbs up-

paying homage to the late mj.

this is my favourite mj song (ed,i was trying to tell you abt this song tt day.hope this video helps!)i like this one and black or white.both mtvs have stayed in my mind since the first time i watched them.very very very cool videos and probably one of the things tt sparked my creativity ever since.

i'm not a mj fan,but i do think he's one of the more talented artistes i've ever seen/heard.i grew up listening to his music cos he was such a hit during my younger-younger days.

oh well.he's not the first of famous pple to die and i suppose i just have to get used to receiving such news of famous pple dying and realise tt nothing lasts forever.

hullow.me's back from the bad english word land-phuket.hee hee.very very very happie, cos the weather was lovelyyy for a beach holiday while we were there despite all forecasts of precipitation.HOHOHO.lovely weather means oodles and oodles of sunblock lotion every half hour, big bug-eye shades and lots of fruit freezes for me.yumsy.

i'm also pleased with this trip because I PLANNED THE ENTIRE THING.THE.ENTIRE.THING.from tickets to accomodation to itinerary.and everything turned out great.the room was sooo nice, the food was yummy and our location was beautiful.kenneth, the lazy bum (who thot phuket was part of indonesia and wanted to change for rupiah.HAHA.),only had to decide on the number of days to stay at phuket, which he now thinks was a bad choice and regrets cos the holiday's too short.hoho.i'm particularly happie because we spent little on this trip, thanks to my extensive researching skills.i'm a good planner-pats back-i also found out so much abt the various places, albeit tiring,so i'm very informed abt phuket now.

splendi-riffic trip.my only grievance is tt i had to pay to relax.boooooo.i wished i could be paid to relax-tt'll be much much much more enjoyable.ladila~

hokay,i think tt's all for now.

bye bye from one who chased sharks bigger than those in redang, who touched fishes and saw beautiful reefs while snorkeling, who was thai-massaged/oil-massaged/body-scrubed/head & neck-massaged and and and who visited/swam/took fotos of the island of the movie "the beach".will post pictures soon, although i'm not very keen on doing so cos beach holiday+snorkeling=no make-up+tan=ugly photos.haha.

going to rest.major annoyed during flight back-had 3 toddlers skreaminggg their heads off cos they were throwing tantrums.many reasons not to have kids.bah.hokay bye.

p.s:need to exercise from all excessive eating during trip.it seems being fat is in.hur.i think tt's one trend i dun want to follow.i shall get kenneth the fat boy to get away from following it as well.

unlike joey tribbiani,my favourite food ain't sandwiches.in fact,if possible,i wun patronise subways or other sandwich parlours or anywhere tt sells bread-y stuff.however, there's this place at guthrie house, simply bread,tt i was very keen on trying.it looked so nice to be dining in there.i think it's cos i reallie reallie like cafes tt have white walls and tables.everything just looks so clean and it gives a very refreshing feel.

anyhoo, simply bread is devoted to baking breads from quality ingredients.they are also committed to use only natural stuff-no chemicals, preservatives, etc.i'm not familiar with the cafe's origins;if i'm not wrong, they're from the us.so tt's all i noe abt them.i think they have a website with all the various info,go check it out if you're curious.

the interior.see wat i mean abt the nice white-ness?

we went there after my hair cut some saturdays ago, which resulted in:
the big chop from waist-length

was there for a late breakfast and when we were there, the cafe was already packed with caucasians and possibly some atas asians who lived ard the area.they were all chilling with their coffee-sipping and newspaper-reading.very saturday-morning activity.i like.

the menu consisted of various types of sandwiches, pastries, salads, coffees and teas.there was a chiller at the side tt had other types of drinks and yumsy-looking yoghurt.kenneth and i shared a salad and had our own sandwiches.

Photobucket
tomato salad/neth's roast chicken sandwich/my roast beef sandwich

i love love love tomatoes.this particular salad had 2 kinds of tomatoes tossed in olive oil and a leetle vinegar.it was served generously with a small panini loaf on the side.our sandwiches were lightly toasted and they came with coleslaw.

the roast chicken sandwich was good.i'd like it better if it came with chicken skin.haha.but if you're all for healthy foods, then you'll like this very much.my roast beef sandwich was yumsy too.it came with many many slices of beef with whole grain mustard PLUS mustard sauce.woohoo.

i enjoyed my visit to simply bread.good choice zhihui!-pats back-together with the sunny weather tt day,i reallie felt like i was in a nyc cafe.haha.even though i dun fancy sandwiches, this place calls for return visits.will try other sandwiches then!
